Best course I have ever done!!

Katrina H.

Thank you Luke! Before this course I could not have even come close to this result. The course is fun and easy to follow and a good mix of practical and theory - made so simple! Have learnt so much and by far this is the best course I have ever done!!

So chill and so easy to follow

Federica T.

I've done photography courses in the past, they were very expensive AND confusing. It took several weeks to learn what I could have learned with Part 1 alone of your course. And I love that the feeling I have while watching your course is literally like we are friends and we are hanging out on the balcony at night, drinking tea or beer and discussing life and photography. So chill, and so easy to follow. I loved it.

Gave me the confidence

Joanna H.

I've been around film cameras and digital cameras for many years, watched professionals, etc., but this course actually taught me some very solid basics, banished a good deal of uncertainty and gave me the confidence to go out and start taking GOOD pictures.

I finally feel I can understand

Sandrine H.

Started the course and it is genuinely amazing! Luke Ayers makes photography sound so simple and for the first time in my life I finally feel I can understand the photography terms and concepts!

The gradient is perfect

Citlalli H.

I don't feel like I'm being taught but a supreme serious authority, but instead I feel I'm taking lessons with my very good friend Luke who is a badass pro photographer. I think the gradient is perfect and I love learning new things in a very fun way also, gave me certainty.

I finally understand the word "aperture"!!!!

Dawn G.

I LOVE that you clarified the very simple words. I have dabbled in photography for more than 15 years, even been paid for my work and even done another online course, however with your simple clarifying of the words I now FINALLY understand the word Aperture!!!! I also had a good laugh at some (not all lol) of the dry jokes you made.

I feel I'm in good hands

Elena V.

Thank you very much Luke. Thank you!!! I feel I'm being lead in the right direction. I really needed somebody like you to start my adventure into photography. Thank god I have found you. Now I feel I'm in good hands. You are like a lighthouse in the sea, you will continue to show me the right direction so as not to go astray, not to get confused in difficulties, not to abandon my dream and my goal. I really understood what you wanted to convey. I felt the core of confidence within me. These main points that you indicated spread my wings and created space! Well then, fly on! I now feel the certainty and desire to continue to become a pro!

I couldn't have come so far without your support

Joshua S.

Becoming friends has led me down the right path that I was meant for. While grueling, and not without serious challenges, I couldn't have come so far without your support, friendship and how much you had to teach in the course. I truly mean that, my friend. While the basics were more jogging memory lane, once you dove into session work I was hooked and loved learning everything I could watching your work, charisma and a genuine sense to help others.

Everything became a photo in my mind

Lara S.

Since I was a child I've liked photography but I never learnt how to do it. This course has given me the tools to improve and also I'm enjoying it a lot more in my shots and creations. It starts with the fundamentals and definitions and you do some practice also. Then after few lessons I started to go out into my city as well as other countries and there I began to see only shots which could be taken. Everything became a photo in my mind and my ability to create increased a lot. Some of my friends and my parents have told me 'Wow your shots are very beautiful!' and I felt surprised and my self-confidence in this area has become very strong now. I like to create beautiful things and for me the course gave me tools to create it. Thanks a lot to Luke for being a very good teacher and very funny too!

Simple and honest

Zoe E.

I am really happy with how simple and honest the information is, and how I'm being taught unbiased information (opposed to the "this is good" or "this is bad" way of teaching). It is just real information without the "you need to do it this way if you want to be good". Your lessons are so informative and at the same time I feel like the course centered on me and the effect that I want to create. I think this is the perfect base for me as someone who is relatively new to photography! The lessons are extremely straightforward and easy to understand.

A simple and authentic teaching style

Jay D.

There was a point as an aspiring photographer where just knowing the basics wasn’t enough. I wasn’t too confident of my abilities and still had many questions until I took Luke’s photography course. His teachings helped me fill in the gaps in areas of photography I didn’t quite understand yet and one of the biggest parts of the course that helped me was learning how much more you can improve your photos using flash and diffusion. Luke has a simple and very authentic teaching style I appreciate. It was also his humor that got me hooked and to actually enjoy watching him teach. I do believe this is a great course for both beginners and for those who have some experience but want to hone their skills. Luke, I just want to say thank you for being supportive when I had questions and for just being a cool dude!

Boiling it down to the essentials

Marie V.

I really like the focus on simplicity and the fact that skill comes with observation and practice. As a violin teacher teaching in NYC with absolutely zero professional schooling or fancy certificates with my name on it, it really is so so true to me that the value in your skill is based on hard work and well, can you do it or can't you based on your own experience and practice in the area, not "I have a signed diploma from blah blah university". I think the basics of any given subject are way more important than most teachers understand, because if a student truly gets them they will be able to think on their own with the information and do more with it than someone who maybe "knows" more, but doesn't truly understand more. It's not always easy sifting through a topic you know a million things about and figuring out what is the essential, most important information and then boiling that down to square zero and conveying it to someone, but I feel like it was done really nicely in these lessons.

YOU ARE A BADA** M**********

Michele V.

The lessons on basic camera controls, composition and especially "the two types of light" have been the most interesting for me. As soon as I began the course I right away started applying it, and it was so satisfying to see the results right there on the screen of the camera. I now feel I understand this subject. It is very clear. YOU ARE A BADASS MOTHERF*CKER! I really would like to personally meet you one day and collaborate.

You get responses from the man himself

Matthew F.

I was happy to understand enough of the basics to go out and do something, as well as that the lessons were gauged for someone who is a complete neophyte in photography. I also loved that you get responses to your assignments from the man himself.

You are a REAL person

Arlo I.

I liked that you are a REAL person, lol, and the accent on the importance of lighting. I was also satisfied that I actually knew a lot of this already, and this course helped to confirm/enhance that.

The humor is awesome!

Jasmine A.

I love how simple and straight to the point everything is--and the humor is awesome! It makes the whole topic of photography approachable, and not this esoteric high-brow, complicated, "You have to be a college graduate 50 times over and still work at Burger King" to get it. Thank you!!

I finally understood what art actually is

Sara R.

With these lessons I think it is possible to understand photography and it's possible to do a good job. And believe it or not, while doing the practical lessons, I finally understood what art actually is. It is all about communication. I had the feeling that I could not photograph or paint or do anything artistic because people might not like what I'd created or would criticize my work. That literally made me stop creating any sort of art and even stop talking much, but now while doing this I realise that when some people don't like a photo, at same time other people do! The truth is that either I didn't communicate well what I wanted to or I communicated something to someone which doesn't make sense to them. So I understood that it is not that everyone hates what I do, it's just I didn't communicate something in a way that could be completely understood. So I feel less worried now about people's opinions of what I do and every photo I take. Also, you are very fun and explain everything very very well and in super simple terms! Thank you so much!

I love your natural and coarse language

Mona S.

You approached things that were not covered in my other studies. I liked the definition of "professional" you gave. This is now some stable information for me. I love your natural and coarse language.
